To fight hate with hate creates more hate. To fight darkness with more darkness creates more
darkness. If we want to see change we need to be the light in the darkness. The show starts with a
flute soloist who will play a melody that you will hear throughout the show. This represents the light. In
movement 1 the rest of the ensemble represents the darkness that overtakes the single light.
However, in movements 2 and 3 we hear and see a shift of positivity when the full ensemble plays the
"light" melody which represents light overtaking all of the darkness. Please enjoy Only light can do

"Circles like the soul are never-ending. It turns round and round without a stop. A circle is the reflection of eternity, it has no beginning and it has no end". Often in our lives, we find ourselves trapped in a routine/ repetitive cycle with no end in sight. Within the vicious cycle, we experience anger, sadness, and self-doubt.
The fight to break free from the cycle can be heard in movements 1 and 2. However, when we finally break that cycle we will be free to be who we want to be and we will come out of that cycle unbroken.

This show was commissioned by the 2019 Greece Blue Knights in Greece NY. The Greece Marching Band received 2nd place at the NYSFBC championships. This was the highest placement in the history of their program.

Part 3= Making it through the astroids/ arriving to the new galaxy

To celebrate our freedom, but to also remember why we have freedom is always important for our students and our nation. Together we can continue to make our nation great, but divided we cannot.
